A beautiful, crisp day for a walk.

Off to the sides of the trail were odd little shapes which looked like-- depending on the size, shape and angle-- scraps of paper or flower petals or sea shells or spider webs.

A closer looked revealed that these are delicate ice formations.

Walk on Sunday, June 7

Please join us on Sunday afternoon, June 7, for a 5K walk in downtown Bloomington. We will meet at the Courtyard by Marriott, 310 S College Avenue, at 1:30 to sign in, and the guided walk will start at 2:00. We will be learning about Hoagy Carmichael and passing by related points of interest including the Carmichael statue on the IU campus. A 10K map guided option will also be available. The walk is FREE for those walking for fun, fitness, and friendship only. The fee is $3.00 for those walking for IVV credit. Hope to see you on Sunday!

American Volkssport Association -- Come Walk With Us!

Well, unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate, so we had a pretty low turnout for the April 25 event.  But, we have several things to look forward to in the upcoming months.   The next activity on our calendar is the 50+ Expo at Twin Lakes Sportsplex on May 13.  Please stop by our booth to learn more about volksmarching!

Memorial Walk for Don Vartanian

A few of us attended the memorial walk for Don on Sunday, March 15, 2015, up in the Castleton Mall area of Indianapolis.  It was a beautiful sunny day but also very sad to say goodbye to one of volkssporting's greatest advocates.  Over the years he did so many things to help our club.  We will miss you, Don Vartanian.
